Charla Horhn, MS, NCC

FullSizeRender-2Charla is a mental health counselor originally from Jackson, MS. Charla earned her Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology from Mississippi State University. Charla relocated to Atlanta to attain her Master’s of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Mercer University. Charla is beginning her counseling career at the Clarity Psychological Group specializing in working with adults, couples, and children.

Charla has experience working in both private practice and research hospital settings ranging from counseling to conducting research. Through Charla’s studies in psychology and counseling over the years, she has a strong desire to help others who are in need and to provide emotional and mental support to people in times of distress.  Charla works to understand people through empathy and reflection. She works to be able to identify the needs of others and aid them in finding solutions to their own problems. Charla works to provide personable care to people of all walks of life regardless of circumstance to foster a positive experience to all she may encounter. Her purpose in life is grounded in the desire to help others find their sense of belonging, purpose, and happiness in everything they do.

Charla creates unique approaches and treatment plans to best serve each client’s needs generally working from the Adlerian framework.  She has experience working with clients suffering from anxiety, depression, substance abuse, eating disorders, trauma, relationship problems, general daily stressors, as well as couples and family counseling. Charla is open to working with any and all circumstances clients may be experiencing in their life to help the client reach the best version of themselves.

Charla’s associations include the Licensed Professional Counselors of Georgia Association, Psi Chi Psychology Honor Society, Chi Sigma Iota Counseling Honor Society, and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.
